The right misunderstands the power of liberal elites and the incentive structures around that power. They capture institutions through connections, status, and funding to advance their agenda in a way we don't. The right should learn a lesson from them. chroniclesmagazine.org
This is a very good piece by @AndrewJCuff today in @ChroniclesMag. It is sober in its analysis of how power actually works. It's a mistake to content yourself with laughing at the odd proclivities of the Davoisie.
@AndrewJCuff: "There is always a subtext in conservative commentary on Davos and the WEF that their liberal insanity is a source of humor, if not horror. But this only displays our ignorance of their incentive structures."
Cuff explains how liberal elites drive change through incentive structures: "If racial headcounts are the new way of doing business . . . conservative nonprofits will plaster a diverse poster child on every issue campaign."
"If ESG is where the big money is on Wall Street, country club conservatives will call it market-driven. If Ukraine is the Current Thing, Republicans will wear blue and yellow pins. Monetary incentives make all these betrayals quite rational."
