Ahom Artillery & foundries
The use of artillery in war by the Ahoms as recorded in the chronicles was found in 1535.
Siu-Hum-Mong created 2 posts, viz. Khargharia Phukan(Artillery superintendent) & Khargharia Barua(Deputy) to run the Artillery Department.
Lo-sals or foundries and blacksmithies were established at convenient and important places like :
1)Tirugaon near Tiru Hills
2)Hatigarh
3)Kacharihat
4)Kaliabar etc.
Gunpowder was stored in kharbhandars located in:
1)Patkai hill
2)Gargaon
3)Rangpur
4)Guwahati
5)Kaliabar
Gunpowder or khar was
prepared at:
1)Khargharbari near Ramugaon and Darika bridge
2)A place near Shalakhamara ghat, south of the Lechang in Sivasagar district
3)Guwahati where the kharbata ghar was situated
5 types of cannons manufactured by Ahoms:
1)biyagom (big cannon)
2)hatimoora or hatimooria (cannon
with mouth like an elephant head)
3)tubuki (short)

In addition to this Ahoms also used a type of Rocket called the Chandraban. I unfortunately couldn't find an Illustration or surviving model of the same.
