1. More than 300,000 people are expected to visit Batu Caves in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration, PDRM says.
The Selangor police add that visitors are anticipated to flood the temple when the chariot arrives this evening.
2. "Sejak semalam ramai pengunjung berulang-alik ke Batu Caves dan dijangka bertambah sehingga hari kejadian," the state's acting police chief S. Sasikala Devi says.
"Setakat hari ini, keadaan terkawal dan teratur, kecuali lalu lintas agak sesak."
3. She says 1,888 officers will be deployed to ensure the celebration goes smoothly.
Meanwhile, KL police chief Azmi Abu Kassim says, 682 personnel have been instructed to facilitate the chariot procession from the Sri Maha Mariammam temple at Jalan Tun HS Lee.
4. He adds, several roads in the city have been closed, and traffic diversions activated since last night.
