Background:
In 1972 Punjab State Elections Congress Won & Akali Dal was Defeated.
The Akalis wanted more autonomy for Punjab and they put forward the Anandpur Sahib Resolution, which demanded that many powers be transferred to the state from the central government.
The Congress rejected the demand. A radical Sikh Leader, Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale
emerged as the face of a fledgling separatist movement and launched the Dharam Yudh Morcha in 1982.
Bhindranwale & Supports Took arms & Soon Punjab was in a grip of Deadly Terrorist Movement.
By 1983, 410 People Died in violence incidents & 1180 people were injured.
Soon after this Indira Lead Center Govt Imposed President Rule
In July 1983 one of Akali Leader Harchand Singh Longowal invited Bhindranwale to take shelter in Golden Temple complex to evade his Arrest.
On 1st June 1984 Operation Blue star was Launched by Indian Army on order of Indira Gandhi to remove Bhindranwale & Other Militants from Golden Temple
Though the Golden Temple was unharmed, the Akal Takht & other parts of the temple complex were damaged.
The operation generated outrage among Sikhs and increased the support for Khalistan movement.
4 months after Indira Gandhi was Killed by her by two of her Sikh bodyguards Satwant Singh & Beant Singh on Oct. 31, 1984 who said there were taking revenge for Operation Blue Star
The Revange of Congress & It's Extremist Supports & Goons :
The very first trigger It started outside All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors were trying to revive Mrs Gandhi.
The first to experience this was President Giani Zail Singh.
The Patern of Attack Every where same
The Congress Leaders let the Violent mob & the police turned a blind eye refusing to help the Sikhs who came under attack.
In Delhi, Sultanpuri, Mangolpuri, Trilokpuri, & other Trans-Yamuna were the worst affected
The Mobs Started Entering Sikh Neighbourhood & Start Killing Sikhs Indiscriminately.
Perpetrators carried iron rods, knives, clubs, kerosene & petrol
Shops & Houses of Sikhs were Looted & Set to fire, women's were Gang Raped.
Many were killed using "Necklacing" method of killing, Putting an old automobile tyre around the victim's neck and setting it on fire.
By the Time violence Ended Its Estimated 8,000 17,000 or more Sikhs were killed in 40 cities across India. At least 50,000 Sikhs were displaced.
National Capital Delhi itself around 3000 Sikhs has been Massacred.
During the night of 31 October and the morning of 1 November Congress Party Leaders met with local supporters to distribute money and weapons
Congress MP Sajjan Kumar & Lalit Maken were reported handing out 100 rupee notes & bottle of liquid to mobs
On the morning of 1 Nov, Sajjan Kumar was observed holding rallies in the Delhi neighbourhoods In Kiran Gardens he was observed distributing iron rods from a parked truck to a group of 120 people 4 and ordering them to "attack Sikhs. kill them, and loot and burn their properties"
During the morning Sanjay Kumar allegedly led a mob along the Palam railway road to Mangolpuri where the mob chanted
"Kill the Sardars" and "Indira Gandhi is our mother and these people have killed her"
In Sultanpuri, Moti Singh (earlier a Sikh
Congress Party member) heard Kumar
make the following speech:
"Whoever kills the sons of the snakes,
I will reward them. Whoever kills Roshan Singh & Bagh Singh will get
5,000 rupees each & 1,000 rupees
each for killing any other Sikhs"
On 19th November 1984, while giving a speech Rajiv Gandhi had justified the violence that took place after Gandhiโ€™s assassination.
He had said, โ€œJab bhi koi bada ped girta hai, to dharti thodi hilti hai. (When a big tree falls, the earth shakes.)โ€
But on 25th Aug 2018 During an interactive session at the London School of Economics on Friday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said, โ€œ.. I am against any sort of violence against anybody on this planetโ€.
