Day 1: Select Niche
Your niche drives your:
- View potential
- Income potential
The more interest people have in your content
And the more purchasing power they posses
The faster you’ll grow and monetize
Let me save you the guesswork and share the top niches for 2023:
Day 2: Research Keywords
There are over 40 million channels on YouTube
To grow in 2023, you need to be strategic
You can do so by targeting low competition keywords
Download TubeBuddy and test keywords
Make videos around keywords with scores of 70 or higher
Day 3: Identify model channels
To grow faster you should adopt other channels best practices
When starting out, identify 5 channels with 5-10k subs
Look at their:
- Thumbnails
- Titles
- Video Ideas
Use these to guide your own creation process
Day 4: Select viable video ideas
You can select video ideas in 3 ways:
1. Create around keywords (using TubeBuddy)
2. Find “cracks” (views > subscribers)
3. Emulate trending videos (using VIDIQ)
Here’s the VIDIQ extension in action:
Day 5-25: Create first 12 videos
To make a video, you’ll need:
- Script
- Audio
- Video
- Thumbnail
- Title
You can do it all yourself or outsource
Here’s my outsourcing process from start to finish…
Step 1: Identify need (e.g. script)
Step 2: Post job on Upwork
Step 3: Review applications
Step 4: Ask for demo work
Step 5: Hire
Here’s an example of a job posting you can use for your own channel:
Day 25-30: Analyze video performance
Once you post your first set of videos, analyze:
- Clickthrough rate (CTR)
- Average view duration (AVD)
The two metrics you want to strive for are:
1. CTR above 7%
2. AVD above 60%
Achieve this and your channel will get more views
To hit $5k/mo, combine traffic and an offer
Service Sales:
50,000 views x 2 closes x $2,500 = $5,000
Product Sales:
50,000 views x 0.1% conversion x $100 product = $5,000
Affiliate Offer:
50,000 views x 1% conversion x $10 sign up commission= $5,000
That’s how it’s done!
