Purik also known as purki/purikpe-skat is a phonologically archaic variety of Tibetan spoken in Kargil district of India. The Kargil town is located between several important locations, such as Leh, Padum, Srinagar, & Skardu
and is a crucial stop for travelers moving between these places.
Traveling west from Dras takes you to the city of Srinagar. Heading east from Kangral takes you to the destination of Leh. The village of Rangdum Gompa is located southeast
