There's three reasons someone carries a revolver in 2023:
1. They are an old timer who is just used to them from when they were ascendant.
2. They got bad advice to buy one as a purse gun.
3. They know all the downsides, but revolvers are cool as hell! Lol

The reality is snubbies (especially the light ones) are miserable to shoot. Heavier trigger, heavier recoil. You aren't likely to practice with them much because they aren't fun.
It's crazy how many new gun owners, especially women, are pointed to them.

On the flip side, they are reliable* and as simple as it gets.
Capacity is limited, but for most self defense scenarios, 5 or 6 is usually (not always!) enough.
And some newer carry revolvers are actually nicer to shoot. Love my Colt Night Cobra. Crazy smooth trigger too.

*I know some claim the reliability of revolvers is overstated, and they can lock up just like a semiauto can jam.
I'm sure that's true, but the latter seems to happen a lot more than the former.
