🕯️Exploring shot types & camera position in #MidJourney
pt. 3 of an ongoing series, today we build off of yesterday's exploration into lighting (link at end of thread)
Retweet if you're liking the series so far. It really helps & your support is everything to me ❤️
🧵 A thread
Same base prompt as yesterday, this time with [Shot Type] & [Position]
For easy comparison, the images in this thread are:
💬 Street Style photo of a woman, [Shot Type], [Position], Natural Lighting, shot on Agfa Vista 200
I'll note when changes are made to this prompt
Some shot examples
📷Medium Shot
👀 A shot where the subject is framed from the waist up. Used to show subject's body language.
💥To achieve a proper Medium shot you'll want to specify some body language, like [walking], or [sitting]. If not, you'll tend to get a med close-up.
📷Closeup Shot (see how we add emotions in the tweet below)
👀 A shot where the subject fills the frame. Used to show the details and emotions of the subject.
📷Closeup Shot continued...
💥Try adding an emotion, like [overjoyed], [surprised], [heart-broken]. To your closeup shots. I find more descriptive words like [overjoyed] produce better results than [happy]
📷Low-Angle Shot
👀 A shot taken from below the subject, making the subject appear larger and more dominant.
💥 I like to include [from below] in the prompt for low-angle shots. Also, try [extreme low-angle] or [low-angle closeup] for different results.
📷High-Angle Shot
👀 A shot taken from above the subject, making the subject appear smaller and vulnerable.
💥 I like to include [from above] in the prompt for high-angle shots. Try [extreme high-angle] or [high-angle closeup] for different results.
Now let's change our subjects position. We can accomplish this by adding [center view] or [side view] in our prompt.
For wide shots, you'll want to add context for what's going on in the background.
You can get detailed with this. Here's an example of a wide shot & extreme wide shot that included [New York]
The difference here is subtle, but with some tweaking you can get more drastic results
If you got this far, here's a hug 🫂
