In Johannesburg's many illegally occupied buildings, you canโt evict the squatters because of expansive legal precedents upholding a constitutional right to housing. If by some miracle you get a court order, then you have to deal with the guys with guns.
So youโre saying that if you donโt do something to limit migration to South Africa's cities, informal settlements of hundreds of thousands will inevitably pop up, posing a threat to safety, order, and public health? Fascinating, I wonder if anyone ever noticed this before.
