It's beautiful to see Muslims coming together to donate and help those affected by the earthquake, this deserves praise, may Allah to accept it.

The dead in the earthquake are shuhada in sha Allah, and the hardship is a purification for sins, walhamdulillah.
With the occupation of Muslim lands, however, not only are Muslims being slaughtered and living in insecurity, they also face the spread of fitna in the religion.

Everywhere that the kuffar become dominant over the Muslims, they institute programs to distort and dilute Islam and turn the people away from it.

Another side effect of their dominance is empowering tyrants that squander the wealth of the Muslims by buying palaces in Europe and sending their children to be injected with kufr at universities in America.
The soldiers and police that prop up these tyrants are also corrupt and inept, which cripples the economies of Muslim lands.

All of this severely weakens the economic condition of the Muslims, reducing what we are able to do to support Muslims in need in the aftermath of events like this earthquake.

By fighting to establish the rule of Allah on the earth, the mujahideen are struggling to address the root cause of inadequate capacity to respond to the needs of the Muslims.
Supporting relief efforts is essential and important, but this only addresses the symptoms.

Any strong nation needs a strong military, just like a healthy body needs a healthy immune system. A strong ummah is in a better position to respond to crises.

A system which supports the obedience of Allah azza wa jal and discourages disobedience will instill taqwa in those living within it.
Those who have stronger faith in the akhira are also more willing to give to help others, and forego personal luxuries to do so.

The money that is going toward earthquake relief efforts is great, but imagine if the ummah could rally to put a similar amount of money toward supporting the mujahideen.
There would be a multiplier effect which would have a powerful impact.

This impact would eventually translate toward more donations and better capacity to respond to crises. Allah azza wa jal says:
مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِینَ یُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَ ٰلَهُمۡ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتۡ سَبۡعَ سَنَابِلَ فِی كُلِّ سُنۢبُلَةࣲ مِّا۟ئَةُ حَبَّةࣲۗ

So please do support the earthquake relief efforts, but please keep in mind that we are facing more serious ongoing crises.

The ongoing occupation in places like Kashmir, Filastin, Somalia, Yemen, as well as all the Muslim countries ruled over by secular puppet governments represents a more serious crisis, and the mujahideen striving against this corruption are more in need of financial contributions.
It is more difficult and dangerous to donate in this way, but that's also because it's more beneficial and the awliya of Shaitan want to block this door to khair.
If you don't know how to donate in a safe way, where you minimize risk to yourself and can be sure the money will reach those who deserve it, then make efforts to research ways, starting by talking with brothers who you are as sure as possible that you can trust.
And don't be deterred by reports about the mistakes of the mujahideen, because these reports are circulated with deliberate goal of preventing Muslims from supporting the mujahideen.

Do the best ijtihad you can, or follow the ijtihad of someone whose judgment you trust, who has the signs of being righteous and upon the sunnah, and trust in Allah.
