🧵Thread
2 key elements for capturing atmosphere & ambiance in prompts:
1⃣ Combo Commands (my term for combining multiple variations of a single idea)
2⃣ Specific lighting
Examples for both in this thread
A "Combo Command" is my term for using multiple variations of a single idea to help Midjourney understand the intention of key phrases.
Here's a side by side for a smokey atmosphere. The one on the right uses a Combo Command.
I'll be diving deep into these prompts on YouTube
The benefits of Combo Commands are twofold
1⃣ They produce more consistent outputs
2⃣ They let you assign color or even blend colors w/ minimal impact on other items in your scene, such as the models clothing.
Here are some examples of smokey scenes with unique colors blends
Midjourney also does a pretty good job distinguishing between particle sizes of similar conditions such as "Misty" (left side) and "Steamy" (right side)
Notice the difference in density and visibility here?
For lighting there are 3 approaches I like:
1⃣ Use the time of day (morning/evening)
2⃣Use weather conditions (sunny/overcast)
3⃣Use backlight & side light
Combining these 3 into unique lighting Combo Commands produces even better results.
Morning fog (left) / Evening (right)
Sorry for not including the prompts in this thread. I recently launched a Youtube channel and moving forward I'll be doing deeps dives on my prompting logic and sharing prompts there.
