In an interview with a German magazine, Zelensky said he never planned to honor ceasefire agreements signed with Russia in 2014 and 2015. If that’s true, he’s basically admitted to wanting this war from the start, presumably to bait a NATO intervention. open.substack.com
He also said the West hasn’t been supportive of Ukraine enough.
The US alone has committed more than $100 billion in aid to Ukraine, a figure that includes money agreed upon before and after the war began.
Calling Zelensky an ingrate would be a severe understatement.

Calling Zelensky an ingrate would be a severe understatement.
The ceasefire agreements were signed after a US-backed color revolution in 2014 brought regime change to Ukraine, triggering clashes between government forces and separatists in the Donbas region who declared independence from Kiev.
These were the Minsk agreements, mediated with help from Germany and France. But now Zelensky has said he never planned to honor the agreements, although he was elected president on the promise of ending the war in the Donbas.
This is significant because until now, Russia has been blamed for the failure of the Minsk agreements, which were seen as one way to avoid the kind of war now raging in Europe.
The Washington Post reported on Feb. 23, 2022, that France and Germany, in particular, “pressed for implementation” of the “Minsk peace accords as the best chance for a diplomatic solution” in a last-ditch effort to avoid war. Zelensky has suggested he sabotaged that effort.
He could be lying. Or it could be true. Either undermines the narrative built by the West that places blame on the shoulders of Russia.
It is also worth examining maps of ceasefire violations recorded by the Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) in Europe.
OSCE maps show a majority of explosions on Feb. 14, Feb. 15, Feb. 16, Feb. 17, Feb. 18, Feb. 19-20, and Feb. 21 occurring on separatist-controlled territory, indicating Ukraine had been flagrantly violating the ceasefire with shelling up until the war started on Feb. 24.
In short, it is the US-led West, which constantly accuses ideological enemies of lying, that has misled the public at every turn about the causes of the war in Ukraine.
