That project failed and polythene sheets still damaging the environment. Villagers are opposing him now.Other ice stupa projects in Phyang are just for public exhibition & people benefited nothing from the irrigation of fields as propagated by #SonamWangchuk 👇
In fact, due to the ice stupa project, there is a scarcity of water in Phey village. Villagers have protested against him & filed a police complaint against him. He has not even paid the premium of LAHDC Leh's land allotted for his institute HIAL.👇
Phyang villagers have given 1000 kanal land to Sonam to build HIAL within 2 years and he promised jobs to them which has not been fulfilled by him. Villagers are now asking him to return the allotted land for not keeping up the promise.👇
