Now to get stranger, in 2012, the movie Prometheus was released.

But first, before i even analyze the symbolism, to tie everything together, the central plot of the movie is the scientists traveling to a distant moon, thought to be the “garden of eden” of humanity, where mankind was created.

The movie revolves around the fact that these “engineers,” aliens are the creators of humanity, were responsible for humanity, and its implied all major religions as well.

In fact, the only religious character in the movie, who is a Christian, when christianity has all but died out, is not terrified about learning of humanities origins, but jubilant. As if it reaffirms all of her Christian beliefs. You see where im going.
The movie also has a weird inversion. Dealing with pregnancy. The main character, the Christian woman, is thought to be infertile. She drinks this liquid associated with the Engineers, and becomes pregnant.
She gives birth to a monster
One of the central points of the movie, is that the Engineers, are Gods, hate us and wish to destroy us. At the time of the movie it was widely criticized because they didn't explain why.
At the end of the movie, the birthed monstrosity, a kind of antichrist figure, combines with the engineer, our god, and mutates into something terrible and disgusting. God destroyed and alchemically altered
