And the reason women don't understand this is that boys are socialized from birth to suppress and hide their sexual interest in women
And that's a good thing!

The issue is that women used to understand that such restraint was in fact being applied (were even thankful!)
But now the pro-social myth of "of course I'm not imagining bending you over this couch right now" is increasingly accepted at face value as men's actual preference

Of course the amount of suppression and deceit expected of a young man keep getting ratcheted up, for the usual reason
I said this to the OP as well: it's very possible that a typical woman has never had a man speak to her honestly about his sexuality

And there's a positive feedback loop in the feminization of social norms: the farther the ratchet tightens, the more shocking, the more unthinkable, it becomes for a man to share his true sexual nature with a women (and even, increasingly, with other men)
Male sexuality is gross, it's aggressive, it's threatening
It makes people (esp women) uncomfortable, and it should!
So it's inappropriate to discuss candidly in polite company, and we basically don't
