Mercedes Monday: This pristine 1991 AMG 6.0 Widebody Coupe has a 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 producing 375bhp. It's such a rare AMG model and is expected to sell for between $750,000 and $850,000. — Car Scoops
This wild creation started out life as a Mercedes-Benz W124 Coupe before the experienced engineers at AMG got their hands on it and proceeded to overhaul it into what is now known as a 6.0 Widebody Coupe.
First was the engine. Sitting under the hood is a new 6.0-litre naturally-aspirate V8 that churns out 375bhp. AMG also modified the rear suspension to reduce squat and chassis flex while also installing a Torsen limited-slip differential.
It also re-engineered the bodywork to include flared arches so it could bolt on a set of OZ Racing 17-inch wheels.
This particular 6.0 Widebody Coupe is being auctioned off by Broad Arrow Auctions and is painted in Nautical Blue Metallic. broadarrowauctions.com?
Its wheels have also been painted in the same color and evidently, the original owner really wanted to make a statement with the car, also ordering it with a matching blue leather interior.
Various other interior changes made include the fitment of Recaro bucket seats, upgraded wood trim, a new glove box door, and an AMG shift surround. There is also a smaller AMG four-spoke steering wheel and a white AMG instrument cluster.
The listing reveals that the car has been driven just 36,701km (22,804 miles) since new and that it is one of just a few examples to receive a bespoke AMG serial number. It spent most of its life living in Japan and was exported to the USA in 2022. carscoops.com
