Women & men are domestic violence perpetrators at roughly equal rates, so if domestic violence is in “1 in 3 womens homes”, then women are the primary offenders in roughly half of them.
The honest way to quote the statistic would be 1/6 women are victims of domestic violence.
I’m not going to get back on my MRA bullshit, but the idea that domestic violence is or should be gender coded as “violence against women” is an obscenity. We have had data for 40+ years showing M+F perpetrate intimate partner/family violence at roughly equal rates.
Men have a tendency to be more overt and admittedly more lethal in the means through which they exercise aggression, but women are equally likely to instigate physical violence, and far MORE likely to be emotionally abusive ie. emotional terrorists.
