@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu Rohit failed in next 2 matches where he scored 47 in 4th inning which was the highest in that inning. However he was dropped and Rahane got his chance again and he scored 48 and 9 in next test match and that 48 my friend cost India 5 years.
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu I still can’t understand how Rahane managed to play 82 test matches with an avg of 38. Disgraceful! and if scoring occasionally hundred overseas is your argument I wonder why Ajit Agarkar is not considered a batting legend
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu Rohit was never given enough chances in test cricket before he became an opener he obviously got those 1-2 matches after every couple of series which didn’t help his case.
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu Ganguly was quick to realize that Sehwag couldn’t bat down the order and gave him opening slot in ODI’s and even smarter to realize Sehwag should open in tests as well.
Unfortunately Dhoni was 6 years too slow to realize the same.
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu And call it Rohit’s bad luck that Kohli became test captain soon after who again took another 5 years to realize that Rohit could open in tests too. Kohli, who has a record of not playing same 11 players in his first 38 matches as a captain.
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu Wish Rohit had got the same support from Kohli that Kohli is getting from Rohit. Look at Rohit’s performance and stats after he became an opener. Imagine where would Rohit be if his captains were as quick as Ganguly.
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu After Rohit became an opener in ODIs and permanent he has scored 28 centuries in 152 innings that’s almost 5.42 inning per hundred as compared to Kohli’s 46 centuries in 262 innings, almost 5.69 inning per 100.
@IshanNarang701 @Sports_Himanshu And since Rohit became an opener in tests he has scored 7 hundreds as compared to Kohli’s 2. And I guess Kohli might have played more tests in the same time.
I am using Kohli’s stats to put the matter into perspective, given Kohli is our best batter in the last decade.
