Surgery was postponed because of liver problem and patient was sent to Gastroenterologist , he started treating patient and all investigations sent and all basic causes for hepatitis were ruled out , then liver biopsy was done which showed drug induced hepatitis .
patient was not on any hepatotoxic drug, doctor was surprised because he could not find what hepatotoxic drug patient was taking , he then asked her that are you taking anything other then allopathic drugs ? then she told that she was on some Ayurvedic medicines for valve
related problem and that drug was prescribed to her by a Ayurvedic doctor ( very famous) and this was prescribed because she was having chest pain , doctor discontinued that medicines and in two months time her bilirubin came down to 2 from 12 .
Purpose of this post is not to discourage Ayurvedic but we should realize that for every disease Ayurvedic treatment is not good , how valve related problems can be cured by Ayurvedic treatment ? there should be some strict rules and regulation for Ayurvedic treatment

I have seen 3-4 patients where bypass or angioplasty was adviced and patient went for Ayurvedic treatment and came to me in bad condition , recently operated a patient who was suggested bypass in 2012 but he went to Ayurvedic treatment ,pumping power of his heart was normal
that time , he came to me in bad condition with pumping power of 20% then i did bypass, if you are taking Ayurvedic medicines for heart related issue then go for Post treatment angiography to see whether blocks are cleared or not
I am not against Ayurvedic treatment but we should realize that there are some limitations of Ayurvedic treatment,there should be proper studies about safety and efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment .
