The absence of proper discernment between right and wrong can be attributed to the presence of Tamas Guna within an individual.
Tamas impedes Rajas Guna from performing actions and Sattva Guna from revealing the true essence of things.

Tamas is characterized by lethargy, ignorance, and inertia. When Tamas dominates an individual's nature, they struggle to make sound decisions and take appropriate actions in their personal and professional lives because of the lack of knowledge, discernment and energy.

When Tamas dominates, it can prevent individuals from achieving their full potential and experiencing a deep understanding of the world around them.

The traits include but are not limited to carelessness, doubt, dullness, fear, greed, ignorance, immorality, indecision, irresponsibility, lack of faith, laziness, sleepiness, stubbornness, and physical & mental weakness.

When Tamas Guna dominates an individual's nature, it can lead to carelessness in their actions and decisions, resulting in unfavorable outcomes.
They may become doubtful of their own abilities, and their thinking may become dull, leading to a lack of creative solutions.

Fear may hold them back from taking risks or pursuing new opportunities, and they may become consumed by greed, leading to selfish behavior.
6)
Tamas Guna can cause excessive laziness and sleepiness, leading to a lack of motivation and productivity.
It also leads to resolute stubbornness, causing an unwillingness to consider other viewpoints or change course.

It is essential to recognize the presence of Tamas Guna and work towards balancing it with the other gunas, Rajas and Sattva, to achieve a state of equilibrium and positive growth.
