Thanks for this qs @sanjukta . Here’s debunking some myths: (Thread)
1. Devdasi - as the word suggests were dasas of Ishwar not humans.During hindu rule they only danced in temples & had nothing to do with Sεχ slavery.
It was during british & Islαmic rule their status changed.
Devdasis whose dance was only dedicated to temples & were devotional were forced to become entertainers because of the Islαmιc attacks on our Temples & later due to British Propaganda. It was as late as 1892 when they were called prθstitute for the first time.
2. Sεχ slavery- While Isιαm as a religion has sanctioned sεχ slavery Hindu scriptures never did so.
Quoting Qυπαn 4.24 : Any woman captured in War can be rαρεδ by people following a special cult. The God of that cult permits such rαρες even if the woman is married.

Now lets see what Hindu scriptures says about sεχ slαγεπγ.
Αs per Agni Puran a hindu king is advised to treat a captive in war with respect & also commands that the captive’s wife should only belong to the captive & not anyone else.
As per Garuda Purana, one who abducts others wife or is lustful towards other women goes to hell
Manusmriti suggests very strict punishments for rαρε
Infact, Greek historian Megasthenes wrote in his book Indika that there was no slave system in India & everyone was given equal rights & respect.
Nowhere did i claim there weren’t any pποstitutes or crime in pre mughal era. No society can ever be devoid of criminals unless we live in utopia.
But a society can be judged only on the basis of what the law permits & what is considered crime not some lone cases.
While !sιαmic society enjoys the religious sanction of crimes like rαρε & slαvery a hindu society’s moral standards shuns it. And that makes all the difference.
Adding another debunked myth @naman_ltt
The passage you have referred to isnt about prostitution but giving one’s daughter in marriage to a suitable groom.
I suggest instead of doing some random cut copy paste, read Padma Purana thoroughly from a trusted publisher.
This chapter talks about
1. women being rαρεδ by asuras.
2. Women who themselves gave into lustful feelings.
This has no connection to devdasis, nor something practiced in a civilised hindu society. Again stop trying to twist things to suit ur agenda, coz u cant.
Nowhere prostitution or forced skavery is mentioned in your screenshot.
Do u even understand the difference between maid servant & sx slaves? I too have maid servant in my home. We aren’t sleeping with her.
