Man Singh was convinced of the necessity of extinguishing the independence of Maharaja Kedar Rayy & sent Manda Rai with 100 war-vessels for battle. In result, the combined Mughal fleet was defeated by BanghÄli-KÅį¹£Ä attack & Manda Rai was killed.

In 1604 AD, Man Singh to make a 2nd & far stronger attempt thus sent Kilmaq Khan to subdue Kedar Ray. Maharaja Kedar Rayy, equipped with fully 500 men-of-war besieged the Mughal General Kilmaq Khan at Srinagara. The Mughals were defeated & Kilmaq Khan was taken to prisoner.

8th November 1602, the Arakan fleet appeared at the port of Dianga, where Maharaja Kedar Ray's general Manoel de Mattos was in a foist which bore the brunt of attack in which many Arakanese (Rohingyas) were killed.

Arrakani Sultan Selim Shah dispatched 150 war-vessels to conquer Sandwip. Maharaja Kedarnath Deva Ray, equal to the occasion sent 100 vessels of Cosses (Kosha). In the battle, Maharaja Kedar Rayy's Bikrampur army came off victorious & they captured 149 of Arrakani vessels.

Fr. Nicolau Pimenta & Fr. Du Jarric, described the Sandwip island ruled by Maharaja Kedar Rayy where 200 ships were annually laden with salt & which, indeed supplied to whole of Bengal with salt. Mughals, Arakanese, Portuguese & Bengalis joined the war for its ownership.

In the Portuguese chronicles, Maharaja Kedar Ray is mentioned as "Cadaray" & honoured as the 'destuidor de orgulho' or the Pride destroyer of the Moor rulers of India.
