to say that we are inherently useless is a false stance. it is to confuse our debased experience of today with the eternity of our culture. the difference btwn now and then is clear if one simply looks at architecture. see what we built in the 1920s, 1950s, 1970s, 1990s and today
there is a steady decline in quality/consciousness, whether we are looking at a humble earthen hut or a monumental public space, our inability to adapt to the demands of new materials & secular education is clear. but its not the individuals fault.
our power elite hv failed to build the institutional mechanisms to transmit high consciousness knowledge & self-perception. there is also an economic reason, in many ways we are poorer tod evidenced simply by the fact that we dont hv the time, money or energy to complete what we
want to do in the way we want to. its simply not feasible, its too expensive. a marriage, a house, schooling for kids...anything...its simply too expensive. a func of popltn density coupled with growth based expectations. not only do we hv to run, but we hv to run faster everyday
