Read thread 👇🏾
Oral STDs are types of diseases that get transmitted from person to person when the mouth, tongue, and lips come in contact with the genital areas of an infected person.
There are many types of sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea, Chlamydia, syphilis and others
Types of Oral STDs
1. Herpes
Herpes is caused by a virus called Herpes Simplex Virus
There are two types of it, HSV 1 and HSV 2. HSV 1 is the number one cause for oral herpes while HSV 2 causes genital herpes
It can spread via kissing, sharing of eating tools, and toothbrushes
The blisters often affect the inside of the patient’s cheeks.
These blisters can be different colors, including red, pink, gray, or yellow.
Sometimes, the blisters appear clear. A breakout usually lasts for a week, up to 10 days.
2. Oral Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease which is caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis.
Although Chlamydia mainly affects the penal, vaginal, and anal areas it can also cause oral Chlamydia through oral sex
Usually, there are no symptoms, but when they do occur, they mimic the symptoms of a common cold.
A person might experience a swollen throat and pain.
3. Gonorrhea (Enziku or Endwadde y’abazira)
Gonorrhea is a disease that is caused by bacteria affecting both males and females alike.
Most commonly it affects the throat, the rectal area and the urethra. It is most commonly spread via oral, anal, and vaginal sex.
A burning sensation may be experienced in the throat.
Some people report the burning affecting their mouth too.
Swollen glands are also common among people who have gonorrhea.
In some cases, the tongue may be affected by white spots.
4. Syphilis (Kabotongo)
It is an STD caused by the bacteria Treponema pallidum
The bacteria live in the sores that are present in the genital areas as well as around the mouth
Its first sign is a sore or a chancre that appears on the genitals or inside the mouth
The sores can develop at the tip of the patient’s tongue.
Sometimes, they form on the gums or close to the tonsils. The lips may also be affected.
The sores tend to grow larger over time and can turn into an open sore. The sore may be red, gray, or yellow.
5. Human papillomavirus (HPV)
HPV is the most common type of sexually transmitted disease.
HPV has many types and are linked to the appearance of warts on the genital areas, mouth, hands, and feet.
Oral HPV often has no symptoms. This means that people don’t realize they have an infection and are less likely to take the steps necessary to limit the spread of the disease
This type of HPV can turn into oropharyngeal cancer, which is rare.
@LoneChildMJB @BradleyCarl256 And given that Africans we eat things in the dark you only depend on your sense of smell to assume that everything down there is okay…
For ladies only
Lets settle this
Do you enjoy oral sex?
Men please don’t vote 😬 I can see many are voting
If wasn’t for the huge number of men voting “Yes” the “No”s were many.
As you can see it’s tight, fair to say 50-50 and perhaps those who have never had it it’s because they don’t like it
