How do you design products that the users will love?
Let's explore in a thread 👇
There are FIVE main things to remember:
✅ Clarity
✅ Ease of use
✅ Functionality
✅ Aesthethics
✅ Delight
In no particular order. Let's explore them one by one:
Starting with Clarity - people need to understand what they're looking at and what they can do here.
This is partially also within other points, but I want to emphasize it.
Then 👇
Ease of use - it needs to be easy to operate - this is similar to overall clarity, but should go in depth - all the way to buttons stating what happens after you click.
Then... 👇
I put this one in the middle on purpose ;)
Of course if you CANNOT accomplish a task in a product, it has failed no matter how good the other things are.
Imagine if there was a glitch and the payment button disappeared. You'd leave the form without paying.
Aesthetics are VERY important. First impression sells the product in the consumers eyes.
Then there's the aesthetic usability effect - people perceive things that look good as "working better" too.
Don't skip on this!
👇
And then there's this. Delight.
This is what keeps your users as loyal customers and brand ambassadors.
Make it fun! Make actions meaningful.
Talk like a human. Be unique!
And if you want to learn more about making great design, check out the free chapters from Designing User Interfaces - likely the best book on UI.
