1B+ viewers watched Jake Paul v Tommy Fury yesterday (non-title fight)
*Spolier* 8 Rounds later the split decision goes to Fury.
Here's PRIME reasons to STOP chasing cheap dopamine:
Social Media launched this fight!
Fury the younger half-brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury - Boxing is in his blood and culture.
Vs.
Paul the younger brother of YouTube/Podcast influencer Logan Paul - He may have lost, but his name is world known.
Love him or hate him, Jake Paul's "show" just goes to show you the value of building a personal brand on social media.
Some people laugh him off as "just a Youtuber" but the fact is this guy gets paid millions of dollars doing what most people are already doing every day...
When it comes to backing your words, excuses will find you if you don't have the mental grit.
It's one of the biggest problems of our generation.
Being the most connected in the history of mankind has its upsides, but it also comes with real invisible problems.
We've grown up aspiring to be our idols...
And that's dangerous.
I mean, aspiring to achieve great things is fine, but aspiring to be "THE NEXT X" causes delusion of grandeur.
In public your words have consequences.
It's dangerous to want to be someone you're not.
Social media has glamorised the lives of a few, and we get to see their nice cars, their brands and their C-suite lifestyle.
And Gen Z want that.
But we don't see the years & years of hustle.
...The pain, the sacrifice, the natural talent they had, the innate passion for their craft and the incredible details.
Muhammad Ali saw the world in an unbelievable way.
The true "WHY" was
Pain is The Product of Progress
β€œI hated every minute of training, but I said don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”
Ali knew he will be a G.O.A.T
Jake Paul believed GOAT status could be brought.
You can't find our own happiness until you accept that you can't have anyone else's life but our own.
β€”YOU are not Mike Tyson
β€”YOU are not Steve Jobs
β€”YOU are not Elon Musk
If you realise this and focus on our own, then our life will be more than enough.
Our idols did not follow in the footsteps of their heroes.
There was no Bill Gates for Bill Gates to emulate.
He had to carve out his ownpath to find his own greatness.
Each of our idols have uniqueness as their power.
They had the conviction to disagree.
They had the confidence to persevere.
They had the braveness to stop conventional wisdom.
Even Drake had to eat $440K Humble-Pie...
It’s not all smiles in the Fury camp this morning despite victory, as Tyson Fury lost Β£100,000 at the bookies.
And the funny thing is...
Once you become the greatest version of yourself, people will see your life and they'll make the mistake of trying to be you, too.
Did you found this useful?
... of course you did!
Practice building yourself, before you do so for others.
