That the conservative movement entertains people like Blaire White as a celebrity is one reason why I am not a conservative. At best, it is only capable of rearguard actions. At worst, it gets its members to accept the basic premises of the opposition while creating falseβ¦
This is not just a trivial point about gatekeeping.
If your movement is based mostly on owning the libs, then you are going to make all sorts of mistakes that it difficult to reach for anything hire than making libs angry. You are also going to undermine yourself.

"All that matter is owning the libs" is how you ended up with a situation where, in this specific case, high-profile MAGA people tried to publicly shame grassroots Texas Republicans who resolved that homosexuality is "an abnormal lifestyle choice" and that chroniclesmagazine.orgβ¦

I am sure White is a nice person, but that is irrelevant to what I am discussing here. White is also a very superficial aspect of this, occurring on the very surface, but is indicative of the fact conservatism stands on the philosophical equivalent of shifting sands.
If there is nothing higher than triggering libs and an anamorphous concept of "MAGA" to rally around, you are just going to lose ground and not realize it.
