Writers face 7 major challenges every day.
Yet, the Masses are deeply overwhelmed.
I Overcame Them & I'm More Creative Than Ever:
Writing sounds glamorous…
That's why you see more people on Twitter trying to learn it.
You can sit on your bed, have a cup of coffee, and hit keys on your laptop for 3 hours a day.
The good life…
But read on for the breakdown...
Writers face challenges too.
And it’s not just the beginners alone…
Even pros struggle with some of these at times.
Read to learn from others.
Write to understand yourself.
So let me share the challenges to overcome them:
1. Lack Confidence:
Writers experience lack of confidence in different ways.
• You’re scared to go after big jobs because you don't feel skilled enough.
• You’ve just gotten a job but you feel you’ll do crap.
• Always demanding low pay even when you give great value.
2. Time Management:
You want to write, but you’re in the wrong environment…
Or maybe you’re just too distracted with Twitter scrolling and liking Instagram thirst traps.
Changing your routine and habits will allow you to perform enough tasks during the day and hit your goals.
3. Knowing Competition:
In this industry, you’ll see people charging $20 for the same thing you charge $1,500 for.
Of course, it’s most likely not the same thing, because you’re charging for the value you provide.
But, you may still be tempted to drop your prices.
Don’t!
4. Writers' Block:
This is a popular challenge amongst writers…
You go weeks to months without writing anything, because you can’t tap into your creative stream.
How do you deal with this?
Stop writing on the first day.
5. Stop Perfectionism:
You never leave your work until there’s nothing left to correct.
But it never happens.
You always find something to change.
So you spend so much time on 1 project and end up not achieving much by the end of the month.
6. Strategic Negotiating:
You’re so scared of selling that you find it hard negotiating your fees with clients.
Also, you never know what prices to call.
You don’t want to overcharge, and you don’t want to be cheated.
So this is what you need to do...
• Analyze the prospect’s business. What's the MRR?
• Ask yourself what is my value worth to them?
• How much free traction can you give?
These answers will help you set your price.
Note: You can’t charge much if you don’t have much value to offer.
7. Inconsistent Earnings:
This one stop most in their tracks... Dead!
In February , you’re making XXXXX
But in March, you barely make XX
This happens when you don’t have clients on retainer.
To avoid this, don’t stop selling yourself
Keep increasing your value by studying and practicing
And pitch new clients even when you already have some.
When you find a business you’re interested in, pitch to them.
Don’t wait until your clients no longer need your services.
