We have great days and informative experiences trying to improve everyone’s experiences with healthcare using technology, operational excellence and a great diverse team of professionals.
So, first, we attempted to ‘fix service’, by making it more patient-centric, more mobile on your phone with a we-come-to-you approach, more affordable, more predictable and more value-driven accepting all payment methods.
What we didn’t see concretely or underestimated is how important it was how-we-pay for healthcare playing a major role in how people provide and consume it. There is a deep need to make it more convenient, be more ready and make it more hustle-free for consumers and providers.
Many take time off productive hours to be present to pay for a family member, loved one or friend whenever, even with other financial demands, to meet this unexpected, persistent and life-long expense.
Plus also for the moments when we see someone’s plight and call for help to contribute financially to an urgent healthcare situation.
We came to the conclusion we can’t fix healthcare service as we know it if we didn’t also fix how providers supply it and consumers pay for it.

There are traditional places to look up to that still work most of the time like medical insurance but how many can afford an upfront premium that’s renewable annually, at an individual or corporate level and all its limitations.
So we, @rockethealthug, brainstormed possible solutions and determined that in an economy, where most people paid for healthcare in cash unexpectedly, we must create a product.
A product that made it possible to save or contribute money towards healthcare expenses for myself, a friend, a family member or a loved one on my/their mobile phone safely, timely, predictably and with no expiry or transferability to other external expenses.
With our tech competencies, that is currently available on USSD by dialing *280# on any mobile network and also soon to be available in a mobile app, we decided to create a means that works for anyone to do just that.
