There is an entire repertoire Awadhi folk songs - Sohar, Biraha, Chaiti, Mandap, Gaari, Vidaayi - on Shri Rama's life.
The following song is sung by the womenfolk on the second day of a wedding in Awadh. The women are checking out and teasing the bridegroom and his friends.
फुलवरिया में आयी बहार भंवरवा रस लूटे
राम लखन फुलवरिया में पहुंचे
मलिया लगावे गोहार भंवरवा रस लूटे
The lines allude to the episode when ShriRam & Lakshman ji visit the garden in Janakpur before the Sita-Swayamvara. The entire town including Sita ji & her friends are enchanted.
Look! There's spring in the garden
The 'bhanwra' is elated
'Spring' is used as a metaphor for Shri Rama and Lakshman's presence. And 'bhanwra' is the metaphor for the ones partaking their presence.
It is amazing how Shri Rama takes various forms in the lives of the common folk. He is the son, the bridegroom, the beloved and the 'aaradhya' :)
