1) Battle of Merut (1785) — 25,000 sikhs invade delhi being invited by najaf quli khan & attack a small maratha force of 2,000 at merut but bapu malhar (maratha general) marched against sikh's with 5000 cavalry & defeated them at merut

2) Battle of banur (1786) — Sikhs invaded Patiala & carried fire & sword everywhere but were repulsed at Banur by Maratha general Dhar Rao, who marched against the Sikhs to the aid of the Patiala Raja

3) Battle of Sonipat (April ,1787) —sikh contingent ravaged territory of sonipat but a body of marathas attacked them , seized some of their horses & drove them away

4) battle of doab (6 oct ,1793) — Bapu Malhar routed a Sikh force near Doab & killed 50 Sikhs, the defeated Sikhs fled to Patiala
5) battle of karnal (dec ,1793) — devi datta (scindia's general) twice routed sikh force led by gurdat singh sikh & expelled them from territory
