For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
Psalms 26:3 [KJV]
Here David explains what his perfection means specifically.
"For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes:"; If what we do in faith proceeds from the principle of love for God, from good thoughts toward him as the supreme and best friend and benefactor of all beings, and from our
lifelong experience of being especially good to us, If it comes from gratitude for God, it is a good proof of our sincerity. `thy lovingkindness' (chesed) means God's covenant love. Throughout his life, he has always remembered and kept this love of God in his heart. Therefore,
David's `perfection' is thoroughly based on God's covenant love.
"And I have walked in thy truth." ; I have done according to your precepts. For God's statutes are truth." Those who abide by God's truth and statutes based on His kindness can expect to benefit from His kindness.
It is also interpreted that they followed God's example in terms of. As God's beloved descendants, those who follow God do what is right. It is a word (119:142, 151; Daniel 10:21) David has made God's word of truth the standard of his life.
