“Their (DeSantis and Christie’s) policies are more like President Bush than like Donald Trump,” said Sara Fagen, a former Bush 43 administration official. What she said is actually true. Here’s a comparison of DeSantis and George W. Bush on their campaign platforms and policies🧵
1. Foreign policy
Bush tried to pose as anti-war when running for president, just like DeSantis did recently. He criticized Clinton’s “endless and aimless deployment”, but he also said he wouldn’t retreat from the world, and he would have WELL-DEFINED OBJECTIVES. 🚩🚩🚩
Recently, DeSantis said almost the exact same thing. He said “no blank check” and we need STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES. Sounds familiar? Bush’s objective was seizing WMD, which was a ridiculous one. There’s no guarantee that DeSantis wouldn’t make up one like that.
He confirmed in his not so popular old book, that he has no problem with ridiculous excuses like WMD. He was not happy that Obama called Iraq war a “dumb war”, and said Bush had the “right policy”. So yes, he will be like Bush on foreign policy.
Even Karl Rove approved his recent message on Ukraine. No one believes Karl Rove is anti-war right? floridapolitics.com
2. Energy
Bush pushed the green agenda by mandating renewable power sources when he was governor, and that’s the reason Texas has so many wind turbines nowadays, which led to the blackout in 2021 due to frozen wind turbines. He also promoted the global warming talk as president.
And guess who else pushes climate hoax? DeSantis. He also banned fracking, and offshore drilling, which even California allows. Not surprising from someone who are paid by a company that wants zero carbon and donated to Jeb Bush.
3. Civil liberty
One of the worst things from Bush was Patriot Act, and DeSantis voted Yea on HR 5606 to expand it. Not to mention the red flag laws that have been used over 8,000 times on his watch, and countless people who got raided by FBI in Florida.
4. Trade
Both of them supports free trade and are against tariffs. Bush gave China permanent normal trading relations and welcomed them into the international trading system, so they can abuse it. DeSantis was also unhappy about the tariffs during Trump’s presidency.
5. Immigration
Bush had nearly 4 million illegals come here in 5 years, and he wanted them to work here under a temporary guest worker program.
DeSantis voted no on 3 bills that contained border wall funding, and wants to send more illegals into the interior of America.
While both of them were seen as good governors by some people, there are obvious red flags even before they run for president. And their stances on key issues are shockingly close, and all in favor of globalists. More detailed information about this topic open.substack.com
