The true creative type produces from a place of truth and unfiltered selfhood. This causes a fundamental tension between objective (Eg. OKRs) and motivation (Eg. Painting to release grief):

Copywriting, designing, etc. are artificial creations made with an audience in mind.
This is not true creation. It’s curation.
Creatives work because they have something to show, curators work because they must show something.

The true creative type works naturally (as opposed to artificially). No man-made deadline can induce this. True creation happens on a cosmic timetable, it happens when it’s time for it to happen. The true creative type is not scalable.
This is why the true creative type can’t work on a brand that’s not their own. They don’t work well as a copywriter, designer (i.e., a job) because things like goals, OKRs, marketing strategies, techniques undermine their entire creative method, which is “not trying”
