You are about to build the most powerful learning system I have found.
This system allowed me to:
Graduate high school at 16 and is getting me my bachelor's at 18 (without going insane)
This system is NOT perfect.
This is what I use and found success with.
Let's begin 👇

So the overview is broken into 3 parts:
- Prestudying ~ Familiarization
- Processing ~ Personalization
- Retrieval ~ Repetition
Each tweet give you the details into what each concept means and how to use it.

1/ Prestudying
Prestudying is a quick 15 - 30 minutes session (depends*) BEFORE your learning
This is where you look for keywords and the big picture 🖼
Here's how I do it:
- List keywords
- Categorize into chunks
- Chunk the chunks
Here's a more detail breakdown for you:

2/ Processing
Your brain is selfish!
Anything that doesn't solve a problem or "seem" important is forgotten
To combat this... ask better questions
Avoid the "WHAT" and prioritize the "WHY" and "HOW"
- Why is X important?
- How is X related to Y?
- What problem does X solve?

3/ Retrieval
Our next obstacle: the forgetting curve.
Your weapon: retrieval practice.
Completely from memory
- Solving past papers
- Brain dump into mindmap
- Teach it to an imaginary friend
A simple schedule for spacing your session:
~ 1 day
~ 1 week
~ 1 month.

Action time!
Great, you have got the core learning principles in place!
Here are 3 actionable steps to help you remember things longer:
A/ Better encoding
B/ Basic association
C/ Interleaving

A/ Better encoding
B/ Basic association
C/ Interleaving
Here's how...
A/ Improve your encoding
Better Encoding = Less Revision Time.
While encoding your information focus on finding:
- Asking questions ~ Triggers curiosity
- Solving problems ~ Increase importance
- Finding Relationships ~ How things relate

B/ Basic association
The brain is a connection machine.
So always relate something new with something you already know.
Exaggerate & amplify the connection to make the scene more memorable.
If possible, use storytelling to puzzle everything together.

In summary:
1/ Prestudy for familiarity
2/ Aim to process your information
3/ Retrieval to fight forgetting curves
Action step for your next studying session:
A/ Ask more questions
B/ Relate to what you know
C/Mix things up. Use a different learning method.
