it’s pretty interesting that the people who show up to twitter meetups are typically kinda lurker-y! A handful of the more connector-archetype types show up too, but feels like the bulk are lurker-y
my theory is that different ppl have different modes of “contributing” or “relating”, and the ppl who are most online typically have that as their dominant “relational mode”, whereas ppl who enjoy your tweets but don’t reply much are almost likelier to wanna show appreciation irl
this is probably a stronger effect, considering base rates 😅 typical follower is likelier to be lurker-y than not, so…
