An interesting part of being autistic is having a series of rotating strong interests in varied things, and realizing that no matter what the subject is, everyone just fucking sucks at thinking about it.
The way a programmer realizes that the pundit has no fucking idea about computers, and then talks to an artist who realizes the pundit has no fucking idea about art, etc.

A neurotypical person may, with a lot of luck, become an expert in one thing. Getting a PhD means becoming an expert in something so specific and niche that likely no one else on earth is an expert in that very specific thing.
A neurotypical will specialize in *one* thing to the point of being able to go "woah holy shit these people have no fucking idea what they're talking about."
For an autistic person that's just a normal tuesday, and next tuesday it'll be about a totally different subject.
