“The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle”
I think it is one of the "right book" for many people at this point in time. An excellent spiritual guide which aware you to honor and enjoy the present moment, be in the NOW.
12 wise lessons from the book 🧵
1) As soon as you honor the present moment, all unhappiness and struggle dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease.
2) The single most vital step on your journey toward enlightenment is this: learn to disidentify from your mind.
Every time you create a gap in the stream of mind, the light of your consciousness grows stronger.
3) Attention is the key to transformation — and full attention also implies acceptance.
Attention is like a beam of light — the focused power of your consciousness that transmutes everything into itself.
4) Any action is often better than no action, especially if you have been stuck in an unhappy situation for a long time.
If it is a mistake, at least you learn something, in which case it’s no longer a mistake.
5) When you complain, you make yourself into a victim.
When you speak out, you are in your power.
6) Your outer journey may contain a million steps; your inner journey only has one: the step you are taking right now.
As you become more deeply aware of this one step, you realize that it already contains within itself all the other steps as well as the destination.
7) The intensity of the pain depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment.
The mind always seeks to deny the Now and to escape from it.
The more you are able to honor and accept the Now, the more you are free of pain, of suffering — and free of the egoic mind.
8) When somebody says something to you that is rude or designed to hurt. Instead of going into unconscious reaction and negativity, such as attack or defense, let it pass right through you.
Offer no resistance. That is forgiveness. In this way, you become invulnerable.
9) Focus not on the one hundred things that you will or may have to do at some future time but on the one thing that you can do now.
10) If you forgive every moment — allow it to be as it is — then there will be no accumulation of resentment that needs to be forgiven at some later time.
11) Love is not selective, just as the light of the sun is not selective. It does not make one person special. It is not exclusive. Exclusivity is not the love of God but the “love” of ego.
12) Always say “yes” to the present moment – and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.
