1. U should be from IIT/NIT to work for a good company.
2. Nobody is hiring in this recession. - Companies are always hiring. There are less positions, but people are still resigning & getting hired.
3. @LinkedIn is the only useful platform for job hunting. - I got a lot of calls from Naukri, instahyre & similar sites.
4. U need to know everything. - U don't have to be perfect, u need to be good enough. If u keep waiting until u feel completely prepared u'll be waiting 4ever
5. U need to know certain tech/language for a particular job role - Big companies hardly care. All they care about is ur fundamentals.
6. Someone's roadmap will work for you. -Nobody's roadmap is for you, u need to make ur own plans which fits ur speed, grasp, time & bandwidth.
7. Only big companies pay more. - There are many companies which pay way more than top companies. Your pay depends on your negotiation skills.
8. If you negotiate for a higher salary, you will look greedy. - You are not being greedy, you just know your worth. You are looking to work for long term with a company and you just want to make sure that you are happy and content.
9. Referrals are sure shot way to land interviews. - ~90% people who I referred never got interviewed.
10. I am failing consistently, i will not get anywhere. - Absolutely wrong, you just need to be successful one time and that one time can come anytime.
