Krakatoa exploded in August of 1883. A massive cataclysmic event, heard 5,000km away, killing 60,000, and altering the global climate.
The Pons-Brooks comet, or at least portions of it, may have missed the Earth by just a few hundred km, at the SAME time.
โ€˜A hairโ€™s breadth awayโ€
Upcoming eclipse, along with another showing by that same comet, and two others will be joining it.
You all know Iโ€™ve compiled a lot of info on this, itโ€™s all just theory. I REALLY want to be wrong. But this article actually gives me some real pause, as it makes me think that itโ€™s breaking up, very unstable. Coupled w/ the eclipse....I think it all hinges on its proximity.
And there were no unusual disasters that I could see during its last passage, in 1954, maybe thatโ€™s because it has broken up more, or the orbit was further out, or both.
But the addition of the new comet at the same time is worrisome.
Eclipses can effect tectonics, I believe.
And it is centered over a sensitive region. The effects of the two, if the distance is right, are very sobering to consider.
