In 2021, I made only ~$300 from Writing.
Fast forward 2023:
• I made $2000 in 1 month
• Booked 2 retainer clients
• I write only 3 hours every day
Here's how Twitter boosted my Content Writing Biz:

Here's how Twitter boosted my Content Writing Biz:
My first writing gig was back in 2019.
It got me $100 after writing 50 articles over a span of 3 months!
Ridiculous and exploited, of course.
I stopped. But I picked it up again in 2021.
Let's see what changed in 1.5 years⬇️

Let's see what changed in 1.5 years⬇️
1. I started writing on Twitter
May 2021 - I sent out my first tweet.
Since then it took me 11K tweets and 1.5 years to figure out:
- My niche
- What works
- How to network
- How to do cold outreach
Twitter has been an Elixir to my freelancing career.

2. Worked for/on myself.
Before I got clients, I worked on myself
Improved my writing and self-published 50+ blogs
It took time, efforts, and a lot of motivation videos
So yea, every client asks for past work. If you're a beginner:
Show them your self-published work. Easy.

3. Networked with other writers
I built connections. The process?
- Found a writer
- Commented on their tweets for a week
- Dropped a DM (not to sell)
- Made friends (real friends)
One of those friends got me my first $350/month client.
Referrals! Start building network, now.

4. Did cold outreach
Easiest ways of getting a response?
Twitter comments and DMs.
I used to comment a lot and DM at least 3-4 media houses each day.
That got me my first big ticket client: $600/month.
However, it isn't as big a ticket now🫡
Expansion, my friend!

5. I never looked back.
I had clients, I had work, and I was building a paid portfolio for myself.
A paid portfolio makes you look more legit and experienced.
On top of that, my Twitter profile became a sort of small personal brand.
What next?

My goal for the next few months:
1. Reach $5000/month
2. Hire 2 contractors to write under me
3. Start my content writing agency
4. Reduce number of clients and increase retainer rate
I'm excited and pumped!
