Most white-collar memes are self-deprecating in nature because if you work in corporate you have to be able to laugh at your own misery (Eg. Consultants and bankers one-upping each other on who got less sleep over the weekend).

There’s a lack of sincerity and sentimentality in these environments because if people seriously reflected on how much they hate their jobs they wouldn’t be able to endure it.

Doing what you love makes all the difference. The struggle is perpetual, you’ll lose sleep working for your MD, you’ll also lose sleep working on your passion projects.
Struggles are absolutely required for success. But do you view it as a necessary evil or an inherent good?

Those who view struggles as “something I just have to put up with for long enough until I get what I want” never seem to be as happy as those who view struggles as “something I’m willing to go through for the sake of a higher reason as to why I’m doing this”.
