Absolutely, the biggest axis of discrimination in India is English discrimination.
It is official structural discrimination that is enforced by the colonial state from top down.
It translates into societal discrimination where people are judged on spoken English "accent."
While you will find thousands of books and research papers on "caste discrimination" guess how many of these Indian academics study English-based discrimination which is the biggest axis of discrimination in India today?
I could hardly find any while writing my book. Guess why?
In 2020, one paper. 😏 Nearly 2 decades after my original article.
Yes, that's my point, so few and far between. Why?
Yes, a false narrative was perpetuated to keep us in chains and advantage a few.
To break that myth was the entire reason I wrote the book.
Yes, class-discrimination is in the structure of English. The fact that it is non-phonetic and there is no logical system for how to pronounce words means one needs to be inculturated into pronunciation, reflective of the social class one belongs to.
