Whenever I have conversations with my US and European colleagues, my heart sinks. You meet people with the same experience; I know a lot more about project finance than some, yet they’ve earned more and they still have greater opportunities ahead. Game is rigged.

Success in any profession is just 50% about positioning and opportunity. And nothing beats opportunities you get as a citizen of your own country. No amount of bragging rights in another country will ever compare with what the privileges that your contemporaries have.

I wish Nigeria was in good economic condition. My guys and I should be eating good and living great lives with friends and loved ones. But all of us have moved. Fighting tooth and nail in a foreign land. Until we’re big enough to come back and invest big.

Game is rigged but we keep playing. The only way to play is hard.
