πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²"Operation Babylift" took place in April 1975.
After the disastrous war in Vietnam in which the US killed 2 million civilians.
Many became orphans.
The US flew those babies to America.
They were πŸ‘‡
adopted by citizens of the USA, Australia, Canada and France.
The plane carrying the first group of children crashed, killing 138 of the 314 passengers, including many children and staff members.
"Babylift" was an operational evacuation plan of the US government that aimed to "rescue" and transfer more than 2,500 orphans from South Vietnam who were part of the child reception program. This program was launched as part of the war in Vietnam, and the goal was to "save" πŸ‘‡
children who had lost their parents or who were exposed to "danger from the communist regime" that had taken control of the country.
