Thread on How To Use Market Maker Buy/Sell Models (MMXM) for LTF & HTF🧵
♥️&🔁
MMXM occurs on all timeframes from the M1 chart to the Monthly chart. I've even seen people use it on the the 15s chart but the timeframes I mainly use it for are the M5/M15/H1 charts for intraday analysis & D/W charts for HTF analysis.
I use MMXM more for intraday analysis since I'm a day trader so unless the HTF shows a clear MMXM happening I don't use it for HTF as often but in this thread I will show examples of both MMXM on LTF & HTF.
There is essentially 5 parts to MMXM. When trading you have to know which side of the curve you're on, either sellside or buyside curve. The first stage of MMXM starts with original consolidation (first green boxes). Typically I want to see EQL/EQH at the original consolidation.
The second stage (red boxes) is a price run to take out liquidity or raid a point of interest (PD Array). If it is a price leg up it's accumulation which means price is on the buyside curve, if it's a price leg down it's distribution which means price is on the sellside curve.
The third stage is the Smart Money Reversal (grey boxes) after Liquidity has been taken or there has been a raid on POI (PD Array). The SMR is a turtle soup entry and then after, there is a low risk buy/sell entry. Also there doesn't have to be a MSS where the LRB/LRS occurs.
In terms of how I trade MMXM I wait for after the Smart Money Reversal (SMR) occurs because once a SMR occurs the curve switches from either sellside to buyside (MMBM) or buyside to sellside (MMSM). Once the curve switches the draw on liquidity is now the original consolidation.
With my model/setup I always wait for a MSS so because sometimes a MSS doesn't need to happen at the LRB/LRS I will then wait for the fouth stage (Blue Boxes) of MMXM which is accumulation for MMBM (Buyside Curve) or distribution for MMSM (Sellside Curve).
The LRB/LRS is usually a fair value gap or orderblock entry (thread coming on these two topics). By the time the fourth stage of MMXM occurs there will definitely be a MSS or BOS by then and then I will look for a FVG, OB, or Breaker Block, BPR, or an inversion for my entry.
Within the fourth stage of MMXM there will typically be two price legs from the SMR to the last stage where MMXM gets completed by taking out the original consolidation.
For MMBM the two price legs that you will see will be accumulation then re-accumulation to target the original consolidation. For MMSM the two price legs that you will see will be distribution then re-distribution to target the original consolidation. Blue boxes = 4th stage.
The fifth and final stage is when price reaches the original consolidation (Last Green Box). Typically you want to see price complete the MMXM by either taking out the high or low from the original consolidation but it doesn't necessarily have to do that every time.
Here is a LTF MMBM Example
🔸Original Consolidation at PDH
🔸Distribution to PDL
🔸SMR at Asia Low
🔸1st leg accumulation at +ob within +brk within FVG after MSS
🔸2nd leg re-accumulation at FVG after BOS
🔸MMBM completed with PDH as draw on liquidity
Here is a LTF MMSM Example
🔸Original Consolidation from Asia
🔸Accumulation to PDH
🔸SMR after PDH + fu raid
🔸1st leg distribution at FVG after MSS
🔸2nd leg re-distribution at FVG after BOS
🔸MMSM completed with Asia Consolidation as DOL
Here is a HTF MMBM Example
🔸Original Consolidation in Jan
🔸Distribution to SSL
🔸SMR at SSL
🔸1st leg accumulation at FVG after MSS
🔸2nd leg accumulation at Orderblock after BOS
🔸MMBM completed with BSL as DOL
Here is a HTF MMSM Example
🔸Original Consolidation from in June/July
🔸Accumulation to Weekly FVG
🔸SMR at Weekly FVG
🔸1st leg distribution at FVG after MSS
🔸2nd leg re-distribution at FVG/VI after BOS
🔸MMSM completed with June Low as DOL
