Their biggest contribution, arguably, is the OpenAsistant Conversations dataset consisting of ~160.000 messages (67.000 conversation trees) in 35 different languages! They had 13.5000 volunteers working on this over the past months. And all open-sourced!

They also open-sourced the models (they have LLaMA-based ones (those can't be used commercially due to @MetaAI's license) but also Pythia-based models).
This is a big step forward in democratizing this technology.
