The only Sui thread you'll ever need. 👇
This will be a long one. Grab a snack.

1/ Sui?
Here's what you need to know:
1. It scales: Horizontal scaling keeps fees low as demand spikes.
2. It's secure: Transactions and asset-transfers finalize in real-time without sacrificing security.
3. It's decentralized: Dynamic assets live on-chain.
1/ Ctd.
Sui's most interesting statement is "infinite scalability".
As you probably know:
The blockchain trilemma is the idea that it's hard for a chain to achieve decentralization, scale and security.
An increase in one = lack in another.
But Sui claims to have it all.
2/ Mysten Labs
In 2019, Facebook (now Meta) announced plans to launch a global cryptocurrency.
It never happened.
One of the co-founders of Sui left the project to start up 'Mysten Labs' (the company behind Sui & Move).
They now have a $2B valuation.
3/ Move
Sui will use a RUST based programming language called 'Move'.
If Move sounds familiar, that's because it is used on the @Aptos_Network.
Move solves developer friction by embracing a cross-platform based model.
It's also pretty secure, fast and friendly (UX).
4/ Developers
Sui already has a thriving community of hungry devs that are building practical tools, games and productivity apps.
Yesterday, Sui awarded $230k in grants to 8 teams.
They're incentivizing builders to do what they do best... by investing in their talents.
5/ Competition
So, why Sui over @Aptos_Network or @solana?
It's clear that Solana walked so both Sui and Aptos could run.
It's also quite clear that Aptos and Sui are similar.
However, Sui claims to be faster, more secure and more decentralized than both $SOL & $APT.
5/ ctd.
All of this sounds pretty great.
But the truth is we won't truly be able to compare anything until Sui hits mainnet on May 3rd.
For now, let's focus on what we do know: 👇
6/ Tokenomics
Sui aims to create a thriving economy with:
🔸 High activity
🔸 Low building costs
🔸 Low fees
Distribution:
50% Community Reserve (Grants, Research, etc.)
20% Early Contributors
14% Investors
10% Mysten Labs Treasury
6% Community Access Program/App Testers
7/ NFTs
There's a lot to be said about the NFTs.
Thankfully, @TATOnft wrote a solid tierlist thread on a few upcoming projects.
Need alpha? Check it out.
7/ ctd.
"What $SUI NFTs are you looking at?"
I'm picky. I don't mint/write about everything.
With that being said: @FuddiesNFT caught my eye.
Check out my recent thread for more info:
8/ Wallets
Here are the main wallets everyone is using:
💧 @suiet_wallet: Designed for everyone, open-sourced.
💧 @elli_wallet: From the team behind @solflare_wallet.
💧 @martian_wallet: Self-custody wallet for the Move eco.
💧@EthosWalletXYZ: Home base for Web3 on Sui.
9/ Airdrops?
Welp.
This isn't an airdrop thread. Unfortunately, there is no official airdrop either.
Be careful of scammers.
As far as I know, public sale (0.1 $USDT per 1 $SUI) has ended and is in pre-distribution phase.
10/ Outlook
I like Sui.
They care about their dev community, have a clear vision and a sh*t ton of organic hype.
If Sui can live up to its claims (AKA, the hype), it's a winner and will help grow the multi-chain pie.
Best of luck to the team.
