I’ve attracted over 10,000 followers with just 7 threads.
And I used to SUCK at writing threads…
Until I discovered this one thing the best writers are doing (that you’re probably not).
If you want to go viral, here’s the inside scoop:
Most people don't think before they write.
Then they complain when their writing sucks.
But the best writers?
They spend 5 minutes THINKING before they write their first word.
Here're 5 simple questions you can answer in 5 minutes (that’ll improve your writing overnight):
"What problem am I solving?"
Sounds stupid?
You’d be surprised how many people have NO clue what they’re writing about.
• Write it down
• Stick to it during your first draft
• Review it when editing to stay on point
The secret is to have ONE big idea per thread, not ten.
"Whose problem am I solving?"
You don't need to write their biography, but be specific:
• Who are they?
• What do they know?
• What are their problems?
Be specific. When you write to everyone, you write to no one.
"What are the benefits of solving the problem?"
It's the reason why people click and read your thread.
Are you:
• Fulfilling a desire?
• Helping them avoid pain?
• Saving time, money or both?
You are not the hero of your thread, your reader is.
"What emotion am I trying to generate?"
Always aim to spark emotion with your words:
• Hope
• Anger
• Shock
• FOMO
• Regret
• Interest
• Surprise
People don’t act on information, they act on emotion.
"What’s my unique angle?"
Online, perspective is everything.
So how you package your advice matters.
• Is it unique?
• Would you read it?
• How can you position it differently?
Notice I didn't say “5 questions to use before you write” - that’s intentional =)
Done!
This isn’t a “go viral quickly" hack.
It’s meant to teach you how to THINK to make your writing pop.
