Google just introduced Duet AI.
It has the potential to change the way we work forever.
Here's how it works:
1/ Google Docs
Example: job description.
Duet AI not only helps you write content.
It includes smart chips for information: location, status and company name.
I see serious applications to overcome the friction of writing a first draft.
After all—a blank page can be scary.
2/ Google Sheets
My favourite feature is the "help me organise" capability.
You can generate plans for any activity you want to track or manage.
This will seriously streamline data analysis and planning.
3/ Google Slides
You can now create compelling visuals for presentations easily within Slides.
It won't be long until we go from prompt → presentation.
4/ Google Sidekick
Sidekick lives in a side panel in Google Docs and is constantly engaged.
It reads and processes your entire document as you write, providing contextual suggestions specific to your work.
• Generate images
• Narrative progressions
• Summarise conversations
The development of a copilot for knowledge work fascinates me.
Building tools that integrate with existing workflows is a necessary step forward.
What's certain—the future of personal productivity looks bright.

With Google being so deeply ingrained into my daily workflow (Gmail, Calendar, Meets etc.) I'm excited to see how the competition stacks up against Microsoft.
Regardless—more competition will lead to a better market for us as users.
